Sales Consultant would have an excellent understanding of entire gamut of technologies that go into the enterprise with a good in depth understanding of Sun Oracle Product Portfolio. This includes Sun Oracle products and technologies, industry trends, market awareness, solution portfolios and competitive offerings.
As an individual contributor, Sales Consultant is responsible for the overall design and technical oversight of complex business initiatives in customer engagements. This responsibility typically spans all layers of the business infrastructure interfaces with the account, customer and customer executive management to define requirements and recommend solutions.
In this technical pre-sales role the individual provides technology leadership to the Account Teams in significant sales opportunities and should strive to become a 'Trust! ed Advisor' to the customers.
As a part of the Sales Consulting organization the individual helps the customer by drawing out an enterprise IT architecture encompassing the current technology infrastructure, applications and how it ties into the customer business plans, and thereby evolving customer's IT strategy.
A Sales Consultant is also responsible for evangelizing Sun as a technology thought leader, Sun's Products and Technology Vision for the IT Industry.

The person should be an excellent team player capable of drawing resources from a various talent pools and using them as a virtual team.
The person should have excellent communication skills including writing architectural documents, presentations, approach papers, white papers, seminar speaking and one-on-one communication.
In addition to participating in customer engagement planning and supporting sales efforts, he/she is also expected to interact with customers at senior executive CxO levels.
The Sales Consultant should be able to understand customers requirements
Able to articulate and conceptualize the complete IT architecture based on the customer's requirements
Able to convince the customer on Sun's solution by explaining the salient features, competitive analysis, benchmark information, ROI, etc.
Should own the overall technical architecture of the solution.
Able to oversee/inspect successful implementation of solution.
