- Analyze trends in engineering technology and maintain a consistency in approach across the engineering of the project.
- Contribute to direction and plan for engineering delivery including continuous improvement, engagement of group with the EPCM and assist with the operational readiness personnel.
- Contribute to executing the engineering management tools of the project plan, setting up and monitoring the controls around engineering delivery in order to meet project objectives
- Support the Engineering Director/role above by providing technical input into the PEG review in order to secure project next stage
- Direct the plans for engineering involvement wit! h stakeholders and designers for design reviews, verification, start up, commissioning and on going operation for effective project delivery
- Influence a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement within the engineering team and the project overall
- Support the involvement of the Operational Readiness Team in the design process and assist them with technically related requirements
- Provide leadership and direction in defining and monitoring a career path for engineers within the project engineering environment
- Provide engineering input to the Project Director and senior project reports on engineering and equipment standards.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining product group engineering and business standards
- Support technical governance to the project by establishing a review culture with both the owners, and the EPCM.

- Design Management - design crit! eria, st andards, review structure, tools and documentation
- Hazard and risk processes, Quality management Operational readiness including design verification, training, commissioning.
| | Desired Candidate Profile - Degree in Engineering with project management experience.
- Typically 10 - 15 years professional experience in engineering design with some on site experience in mining and plant operation and possibly construction.
- Should have handled smelter projects, hands on engineering exp, drawing – interpret drawing, erection, fabricators, etc
- Familiar with safety systems plant legislation and experience of leading a large engineering team including.
- Design experience to include development as a discipline engineer to around principal level
- Site operational experience with several years in maintenance, operations or construction
- Experience in managing Engineering teams with a multi discipline requirements
- Experience in working with decision making bodies such ! as the Technical Evaluation Board and Project Evaluation Board.
- Working understanding of EPCM team with accountability for delivering a project
- Managing the engineering on a number of projects of the sub billion $ size
