Desired Candidate Profile
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage team of about 8 engineers in terms of their work load and targets.
• Formulating projects by interacting with principals and meeting quality targets & delivery schedules.
• Interact timely to facilitate resolution of issues and regular interaction for work reviews with principals.
• Seek expert advice to resolve complex technical issues.
• Review the work done by the team prior to delivery for completeness and accuracy.
• Guide the team in performing static linear FEA / CFD analysis and review final engineering report
• Manage new product introductions projects in a continuous improvement environment with particular emphasis on design for manufacture, value engineering and quality function deployment.
• Prepares and performs performance evaluations for the team in addition to being a coach/mentor for their continued professional development.
• Participates in OpEx improvement activities including team involvement as appropriate (such as Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, 3P – Production Preparation Process, etc.)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
• Proven experience in handling team of design engineers
• Proven experience of working with multi-location teams in engineering services environment
• Knowledge of international engineering and material standards
• Proven expertise in formulation, estimation, planning, work allocation and delivery of engineering services projects in MNC environment
• Detailed knowledge of valve / pump design specifications will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of sand casting, lost wax, forging and general machine shop machining process.
• Must have user level expertise in any one or more of the following: Pro/E Wildfire / Unigraphics NX / Inventor CAD software.
• Candidates must be extremely detailed orientated and be familiar with ANSI Y14.5
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
• Mechanical Engineering Degree plus 8 to 10 years experience in R&D/engineering preferably in valve/pressure equipment industry.
• Candidates working with Multi-National Corporations having multiple products will be preferred.
• Experience with phase gate process for new product development will be an added advantage.
