| Job Description | Responsible for project management for executing Mechanical packages in coal based power projects on EPC basis. He should be fully familiar with all aspects of project management i.e. project planning, procurement, contract management, site erection/commissioning and management and quality aspects of BOP & BTG mechanical packages in large sized coal based power projects. He will have to ensure completion of the project within budgeted cost estimate & project schedule and to contractual, commercial, technical, and quality requirements. Effectively mitigate project risks and create opportunities for project execution enhancements and cost reductions. |
| Desired Profile | PRINCIPAL DUTIES (List of specific responsibilities) 1. Responsible for studying and assimilating all key elements and contractual scope of the Customers/ Consultants specification so that these gets covered in the Mechanical contracts developed for execution. 2. Interact with proposal development team for assimilating scope of work, key contractual requirements and other aspects impacting project costs. 3. Assist Planning Dept in preparation of WBS and project schedule for the Mechanical packages for monitoring of the project in terms of schedule and cost. Ensure that the plans and schedule for the packages dovetails with the Project Master Schedule prepared as per Contract guidelines. 4. Timely preparation of all contracts to meet project deadlines. Review technical engineering specifications and preparation and release of Purchase Request (PR) based on the final Engineering Mechanical specification of various equipment / packages. 5. Follow up with vendors, ensure submission and approval of engineering drawings on time, sort out any pending issues, ensure manufacture and inspections as per approved QAP to achieve timely supplies to site. Approve invoices for timely payments to vendors/ sub-contractors and ensure invoicing to Customer as per approved billing schedule and follow up for timely payments. Preparation of cash flow schedules and variance statements in accordance with the contracts. 6. Implementing a periodic MIS reporting and Claim Management Procedures. 7. Co-ordinate site activities with the Construction Manager for completing erection & commissioning on time. Resolving site discrepancy reports with engineering. Coordinating with Procurement department for shortage damage report from site. 8. Closing out contract with Purchaser after completing all deliverables. 9. Identifying the training needs for own department and arrange for the same, through Personnel Department, as and when required. 10. Identify and process changes that impact contract margin. 11. Involvement in preparation of annual / mid term review budget. |
