• Assists vendor in hardware infrastructures (e.g., servers and storage devices), and enhancements to their operating systems and databases
• Create documentation for hardware system configuration and installation
• Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
• Maintain specifications, diagrams, and charts to support hardware design and selection
• Collaborate with network and security staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of application software and systems
• Ensure supporting systems and software are correctly installed and supported and backup, recovery and security procedures are in place and followed
• Ensure applications are kept up-to-date as defined by business needs
• Maintain accurate status records for ongoing projects and assists as required, in forecasting, auditing and planning
• Develop working knowledge of tools and system environments needed to fulfill job responsibilities
• Assist in the development for systems integration or customized application or configuration projects (e.g. scripting)
• Assist in the performance testing of systems integration or customized application
• Assist support PLM application team
• Provides 24/7 on-call support for critical systems recovery after major outages.
Previous Experience and Competencies:
• BSc (typically but not exclusively IT, Telecommunications, Computer Science or Engineering related discipline) and 3-5 yrs of experience
• Unix System administration
• Experience of working with remote teams over email and conference calls
• Good oral and written communication skills Competencies to be kept current:
• Thorough understanding of the systems and applications configuration (stunnel, Apache, Servlet Container, RMI,…)
• Knowledge of Web Services
• In depth knowledge of operating systems (UNIX, LINUX, Windows)
• Knowledge of programming languages (perl, tcl, sh, bash,etc.)
• Installation Application Software experience on Unix/Linux Behavior:
• Able to work alone or as part of a team
• Analytically minded, technically disciplined with excellent problem solving skills
• Able to foster and maintain professional internal, client and third party relationships
• Shows initiative
• Able to work under pressure
• Enthusiastic
• Adaptable; willing to learn latest technologies
| | Desired Candidate Profile - Candidate should have at-least 3-8years of experience in Unix/Linux Administration/HPUX/IT Support Administration.
- Exposure and good hands on experience in assists global vendor in hardware infrastructures (e.g., servers and storage devices), and enhancements to their operating systems and databases .
- Experience in Orcale administration is a added advantage.
- Experience in MatrixOne/ENOVIA (Dassault Systems) is a excellent plus advantage.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
