Job Description

Key purpose of your role is to build, maintain and manage close relationships with key strategic accounts and communicate and deliver the value proposition to key accounts.

Your Key Accountabilities include :

• Maintaining regular contacts with key customers before, during and after sales to develop long term, trusting, value-adding relationships. As the primary point of contact for the customer you will coordinate all RTD’s communication to the customer.

• Developing an in-depth understanding of the customers’ business.

• Developing and executing action-oriented account plans for all strategic accounts.

• Managing the sales transaction process with key customers and the delivery of RTD products and service with focus on maximum customer satisfaction.

• Supporting and contributing to the execution of RTD’s alternative sales channels.

• Keeping up-to-date with competitor, market, product, price and customer information. Contributing to the strategy development.

Desired Candidate Profile

• To qualify for this role you most likely have a (higher) Commercial degree or similar.

• You are in possession of a strong product (rough and/or polished diamonds) and industry knowledge (diamond pipeline, competitors). You have a solid understanding of diamond company business models. Proven experience in the diamond industry or B2B luxury (diamond jewellery) sector is required.

• You have a relevant account management and relationship building experience with a successful track record of influencing and managing key customer satisfaction.

• To perform well you have a strong customer and service orientation, excellent organisational and projectmanagement skills with outstanding analytical and planning capabilities and a strategic view.

• You are an effective teamworker with strong verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills. You are fluent in English.

• You are a dynamic, result-driven, stress-tolerant and persuasive self-starter, full of initiative and really passionate about your product and business.

• You have high IT literacy : MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, CRM, Lotus Notes and the ability to use diamond trading systems.

• You are willing to relocate and live and work in Belgium (Antwerp region).

Rio Tinto Diamonds NV in Antwerp, is part of the Rio Tinto Group. It is responsible for selling and promoting Rio Tinto���s rough diamond productions. Rio Tinto Diamonds��� rough diamonds come from three mines located in Canada (Diavik mine), Australia (Argyle mine), and Zimbabwe (Murowa mine). All three productions are sold separately to a diverse international customer base. These companies operate diverse business models in different geographical locations including India, China, US, Belgium, Canada & Israel.

The Sales department is responsible for managing all key account (���Select Diamantaires���) relationships and sales, as well as for the planning, execution and analysis of Alternative sales (tender process).
